1870 census - Carbondale - Joseph [43][stable boss], Janet [36], Edward [Albert - 19], Elizabeth 16 -at home, Henry [driver -13], Joseph [11], William [5], Ellen 3, Wm. [3 months] plus Susan Collins [21]. Susan is shown as English born and is possibly his eldest daughter. House valued at $2500.
1880 census - Isgar - Joseph [54] - engineer, Jeanet [46], Lizzie [26], Henry [19 - loco linesman], William[ 15], Ellen [11], Cora [7] and Joseph Stafford [stepson - watchman].
1890 census substitute - living at 90 Salem Avenue, Carbondale - engineer
Buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Carbondale - also a trustee of that cemetery.

Joseph arrived New York 19/7/1851 on the Sir Robert Peel [transcribed as Joseph Jager]

Sarah and two children, Susan and Edward [aged 2 and 4 respectively], listed on the manifest of the ship Northumberland which arrived in New York on the 18 August 1853 - also William Isger listed.

Served in the American Civil War for a short time report Bob & Janet Isger.
Union Army, Company C, 13th Infantry Regiment PA - enlisted 12 September 1862 & mustered out at Harrisburg, PA on the 26 September 1862.
13th Regiment Militia Infantry - Called September 4, 1862, to repel Lee's invasion of Maryland. Disbanded September 24, 1862.
1865 - tax assessment - income $111, tax paid $5.55

1860 census - no trace of him or family - Jenette Stafford is in Philadelphia with parents.
No trace of Sarah in the English death records.
Joseph enlisted in PA in 1862
Probability is that the family is somewhere in PA but name transcribed wrong.
