Butcher by trade but reputed to have tried many things in his life. Butcher's manager on birth certificate of son. Family rumour has it that he ran off with the Pub christmas club savings whilst he and his wife were landlord & landlady - that ended the marriage although there was never an official divorce.
Marriage certificate gives father as John Fothergill but no trace!

Leslie married Edith Arnold, daughter of Charles Arnold and Sophia Joy, on 9 Sep 1909 in Basford, NTT ⁴ ^,21.^,60 (Edith Arnold was born on 10 Aug 1889 in Luton, BDF ⁴ and died on 30 Nov 1962 in Horsell, SRY ⁴.)
